The Caughman Amateur Telegraph Line was established in Aug. 1889 to connect businesses in the towns of Delmar and Summit, S.C. In May 1893, operators W[illiam] H[enry] Hare, W.A. Hare, and A.S. Morgan agreed to lease their line to the Lexington and Edgefield Telegraph Company.
